I graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2016 having studied Chemistry. My final year project involved the production of ‘magnetic vesicles’ by incorporating magnetic nanoparticles into polymer vesicles, which could eventually have potential as drug delivery systems and/or imaging agents. Upon completing my degree, I joined the MIBTP doctoral training programme, where as part of my first year I spent time at the University of Warwick under the supervision of Prof. Tim Bugg studying the enzymatic degradation of lignin by bacteria. My PhD is now focused on synthesising polymers that will be able to cluster bacteria to form biofilms for industrial applications. I am jointly supervised by Paco and Tim Overton (Biochemical Engineering).- Education:
