Sameh El Sayed received his Master degree in chemistry at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain) in 2012 and Ph.D. at the same university in 2015 with Professor Ramón Martínez-Máñez. His research areas of interest were the synthesis of chromo-fluorogenic sensors and molecular probes for the detection of anions, cations and neutral species. After a postdoctoral period at University of Pavia (Italy), he joined Centro de Investigación Biomédica en Red, (CIBER) under Juan de la Cierva postdoctoral fellowship for 2 years. His research areas of interest was the development of nanomaterials for sensing and smart delivery applications. In 2018 he joined School of Chemistry in University of Birmingham (UK) under a Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowship to work, under Paco’s supervision. My project, AntiobioPICs, aims at the development of Polyion complex (PIC) nano particles capable of delivering small-molecules with antimacrobial activity. This project is funded by the European Commission as part of the MSC actions.- Education:
